Our Students Participation in the session of Harvard Model United Nations India

A group of nine students from Grade X -XII participated in the sixth session of Harvard Model United Nations India held at the Hyderabad International Convention Center, Hyderabad from August 12 – 15, 2016.

In the past, HMUN India has witnessed a participation of over 1500 high school students each year representing 200+ schools from 40 cities and territories across 20 countries. HMUN India 2016 shares a common platform to have a meaningful experience to all its participants through an added speaker agenda, social events and many more engaging activities before, through and after the conference.

The HMUN India EXPERIENCE

Committee Directors from Harvard University – Directors and members of the Secretariat from the International Relations Council of Harvard University itself will be responsible for chairing the committees at HMUN India. These directors have decades of cumulative experience in Model UN conferences around the globe and are experts in the topics they chair.

  • Global Networking – This diverse and dynamic conference presents the students as well as the participating institutions with a unique opportunity to connect & build a powerful global peer-network.
  • Engaging Speaker Sessions – Over the years, HMUN India has brought eminent personalities such as Dr. Raghuram Rajan, Governor- Reserve Bank of India, Ani Choying Dolma, UNICEF Goodwill ambassador for Nepal, Ms. Nandita Das, Actress Wing Cdr. Rakesh Sharma, the first Indian to travel in Space, Ms. Binalakshmi Nepram, Founder of Control Arms Foundation India & Manipur Women Gun Survivors Network, Ms. Suhasini Haidar -Foreign Affairs Editor and anchor of CNN-IBN, Mr. Basant Dhawan – General Manager- media, Vodafone India, Mr. Michael Mullins – Consul General, US Consulate General, Hyderabad among others. HMUN India 2016 will continue to bring such dynamic leaders to engage with young delegates throughout the course of the conference.
  • Vibrant Social Events – Complementing the intense committee discussions, HMUN India also organizes vibrant social events like the HMUN India’s Got Talent and the Delegate Dance among others. HMUN India 2016 will continue to provide delegates with exciting new opportunities to unwind and socialize every evening of the conference.
  • Students Take: It was a lifetime experience for these young minds nurturing the career in the lap of of Akal Academy Baru sahib through value based education. The world was wide open for them which parried a feel of international environment.
  • The HMUN opened new avenues for the students to interact with their peers from across the globe and other parts of India. They shared and exchanged their views omn international issues and experienced the conduction of United nations.

The experience of interacting with internationally acclaimed speakers from a varies diaspora of expertise has given these students en extreme edge over their colleagues.
The students are highly motivated and would surely have gained the courage to be good public speakers and take their perspectives to any level. They are determined to participate in the same event in next calender year and would motivate many others to jin the movement.
