In Loving Memory of Hon’ble Sant Teja Singh Ji on the 149th Birth Anniversary, we humbly pay tribute to a visionary saint, scholar, educator and global ambassador of Sikh values whose life was dedicated to humanity, spiritual awakening, and world peace.
Born on 14th May, 1877 in the village of Balowali (now in Pakistan), Sant Teja Singh Ji displayed exceptional academic brilliance from an early age, completing higher education with distinction and later becoming the youngest Vice-Principal and the first Sikh Principal of Khalsa College, Amritsar.
Journey of learning took Sant Ji across the world, becoming the first Sikh student at Cambridge University and later at Harvard University, carrying the message of Sikh philosophy, equality and service.
Sant Ji’s efforts played a significant role in securing dignity, recognition and religious rights for Sikh and Indian communities abroad, especially in countries like Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.
Deeply inspired by Sant Attar Singh Ji Maharaj, Sant Teja Singh Ji carried forward the mission of value-based education and spiritual awakening. Sant Ji served in important educational and religious positions, including Principal of Akal Degree College, Mastuana Sahib, and Jathedar of Akal Takht Sahib. Sant Ji also contributed towards establishing Gurdwaras internationally. Sant Ji built the first Gurdwara Sahib in London, followed by the first Gurdwara Sahib in Canada in 1912.
After witnessing the destruction caused by World War II, Sant Teja Singh Ji strongly advocated that lasting peace in the world could only be achieved through value-based education for students. In 1956, at the World Religion Conference in Japan, Sant Ji delivered the historic lecture,
“The Way to Establish Permanent Peace,”
emphasizing spiritual and moral education as the foundation for global harmony.
Sant Ji later revealed the sacred Tapo Bhumi of Baru Sahib in the serene hills of Himachal Pradesh, which eventually became the foundation of a spiritual and educational movement transforming countless lives.
Sant Teja Singh Ji’s legacy continues to guide generations through the timeless ideals of spirituality, education, peace and selfless service.

In loving memory of Sant Baba Iqbal Singh Ji, students of Akal Academy Baru Sahib (Grade 1st to 12th) collectively offered the Paath of Rehraas Sahib Ji during the 100th Birth Anniversary Samagam of revered Babaji.
Congratulations to Granth Singh, Amrit Singh Walia, and Mahesh Rathi of Grade 10th, for qualifying for the International Level of AI Codeavour 7.0, to be held in Indonesia.
Their project, Anti-Collision System for Trucks, progressed from the Zonal Round in Delhi to the National Competition in Bengaluru and has now advanced to the International stage.
The project was developed with the objective of improving road safety and reducing accidents involving heavy vehicles. Using ultrasonic sensors, microcontrollers and Python-based programming, the system detects obstacles ahead and automatically applies staged braking based on distance, helping prevent collisions caused by delayed reaction time, fatigue, or low visibility conditions.
What makes the project especially meaningful is its focus on creating an affordable and practical safety solution that can be integrated even into existing trucks and buses. The team is now further enhancing the model by integrating driver sleep alert and anti-theft features.
The project also aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being, supporting safer roads and reduction in accident-related injuries.
Heartiest congratulations and best wishes for the international competition ahead.
